Challenges

Investigations determined that full replacement of the existing bridge was the most viable long-term solution. As a key freight route, the new structure needed to accommodate heavier vehicle loads while improving safety for all road users.

‍

The project also required a solution that could be delivered within a defined program and funding framework. Balancing performance, constructability, and whole-of-life value was critical to achieving the project's objectives.

How we helped

InQuik provided a bridge solution that met the project's technical, program, and budget requirements while supporting local delivery objectives. The new 37.5-meter-long, 10-meter-wide bridge was designed to meet both T44 and SM1600 loading standards, ensuring it can support current and future freight demands.

‍

Its semi-integral design delivers a robust, low-maintenance structure with a 100-year design life. By utilizing local contractors and council resources throughout construction, the project delivered both infrastructure and economic benefits to the surrounding community.
