Bruce Mullaney was a Southern Tablelands builder and farmer who understood firsthand the challenges facing communities without reliable access.
He developed and patented a method for constructing concrete slabs that would change the way bridges could be built, anywhere in the world.
Working alongside his brother-in-law Jim Howell, Bruce refined the technology so that reinforcing steel and formwork could be assembled off-site and transported ready to pour, eliminating the delays and costs that had long made bridge construction out of reach for remote communities.
Inspired by their father's vision, Logan and Ben Mullaney founded InQuik Pty Ltd in 2017 to bring that idea to scale. What started in rural NSW has since been recognised with the Australian Engineering Excellence Award, ranked the number one modular bridge solution by a World Bank-commissioned report, and patented in over 88 countries worldwide.
